We’re in Patagonia! We made it… to the start line, that is. Our eyes are now set on our next adventure: the rugged road south to Ushuaia 🙂
Train, bike, train. At least that’s the plan as we make our way south, then west in Argentina (which, by the way, we’ve figured out, is much, much bigger than Uruguay).
Onto the next one! Country #2: Argentina. We set off across the Rio de la Plata and into the heart of the pampas — making our way south toward the end of the world.
Our final destination in Uruguay was the city of Colonia del Sacramento (referred to by locals simply as “Colonia”). We were offered a ride, so we packed our gear, hopped aboard El Capitán’s auto and took the scenic route up the coast. Geography Colonia sits upon a peninsula on the Rio de la Plata, 180 kilometers…

We now have a game plan: get to Ushuaia (aka the end of the earth) before winter. But first, we needed to get back to Montevideo.
